Vaidehī　韋提希 The wife of King Bimbisāra of Magadha and the central figure of the Tragedy at Rājagṛha. Because she secretly carried food to the king, who was imprisoned by their son Ajātaśatru, she too was confined in an inner palace. The Contemplation Sutra was expounded for her by the Buddha who appeared before her in order to save her from human agonies. See Devadatta
