seven kinds of jewels　七宝 In the Amida Sutra, they are enumerated as gold, silver, lapis lazuli, crystal, sapphire, red pearl, and carnelian. The kinds of precious substances, as well as their order, vary in different texts. They exist in Sanskrit, but it is difficult to tell exactly what English words correspond to them, except for gold, silver, and pearl.
