Perfect Bliss　極楽 A translation of Skt. sukhāvatī, lit., “that which possesses happiness”. The Chinese term, Gokuraku, appears for the first time in the Amida Sutra as the name of Amida’s land, and it has since been widely adopted not only among Pure Land aspirants but also in general daily usage.
