Mahākāśyapa　摩訶迦葉 The Sanskrit name means “great Kāśyapa”. The foremost of the Buddha’s ten great disciples, well known for his strict observance of the dhūta practice of frugal living. After the Buddha’s passing, he took over the leadership of the Sangha.
