Land of Bliss　極楽 A translation of the Sanskrit term, Sukhāvaatī, which is used as the designation of Amida Buddha’s Pure Land. This term appears in the Contemplation Sutra and the Smaller Sutra, while in the Larger Sutra the Buddha land is called annyō 安養 (“land of peace”) or anraku 安楽 (“land of happiness”).
