Anāthapiṇḍada’s Garden of Jeta Grove 祇樹給孤独園 A Buddhist monastery located south of the ancient city of Śrāvastī, capital of Kośala, present Sāhetmāhet, India. The Sanskrit term, anāthapiṇḍada, lit., “giver of food to the poor”, actually refers to a rich person called Sudatta, who built for Śākyamuni Buddha a monastery in the grove offered by Prince Jeta of the royal family of Kośala.
